History
Western Integrated Electrical was founded in 1982 in Burnaby, British Columbia by three partners with diverse experience in industrial electrical contracting and services, as well as control systems such as variable-speed drives, programmable controllers and circuit-board repairs. Our attention to quality, responsive 24/7 service and unique high-tech skill sets helped us grow into a leading industrial electrical services company in the Lower Mainland. Over the years, the company has expanded its services to include system integration and panel-shop services.
In 1996, the system-integration business was spun off into a separate company to provide better focus, and Western Integrated Systems (WIS) was born. Initially focused on the forestry industry, this business grew rapidly, and more personnel and facilities were added to help support growth. Through WIS, the company expanded out of Vancouver to serve customers in mining, forest products, packaging, water/wastewater, and food and beverage—throughout North America and around the world.
In 2016, WIS acquired Wespac Automation, a boutique automation company specializing in controls for rail welders and hoists. This has proven to be complementary to the existing business and has diversified WIS’s services and customer base.
In 2017, WIS moved into a new facility, thereby doubling its office space and quadrupling its manufacturing space. There are now over 50 employees and the future is bright! WIS partners with its customers to solve their most pressing challenges, including speed to market, product quality, optimized production, and maximizing investment and uptime. The company practices a partnering approach with its customers to provide valued expertise, flexibility and a can-do attitude.
We are experts in the fields of engineered VFD systems, material handling, machine safeguarding and all types of automation projects. We’ve built a high-performance culture based on trust, integrity, professionalism and expertise. We take pride in being a dynamic, entrepreneurial business that builds lasting relationships with customers around the world.
We pride ourselves on completing projects—from small electrical installations to multi-million-dollar turnkey projects—on time and on budget. • Upgrades
